SOME
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Many of you
keep asking the same questions about Polynesia, so I will put some
of the most popular on here.
If Huna's so
simple and so wonderful, then why doesn't the world know about it?
We have a saying
in England that history is always written by the dominant power.
Huna has keys for every part of your life, but has been supressed
by externally more powerful institutions and beliefs. The world
was not ready for Huna. Everything you do to help your own light
to truly shine helps the world. Huna helps simplify that process.
Now the world is ready for Huna.
Is Huna for
me?
Sometimes people
feel really drawn to Huna, but don't know why. There are usually
signs. Try listening to some Polynesian music and see how it makes
you feel. Sometimes people feel very moved when they first hear
the music, almost like their souls are being reconnected. That's
a sign. How about the meaning of your name? In my own case, my parents
gave me the name Rima, after the Aramaic meaning of 'a white gazelle'.
Yet all over Polynesia it is a local name. Rima means the number
five, the number when the Maori of New Zealand-Aotearoa, begin to
dance: toru faa RIMA. In the Cook Islands Rima means the ability
to bring the heaven down to earth through the five fingers. Another
sign is things somehow become easy when you think of the possibility
of doing a course or having a reading for example. That's a sign
Huna is in alignment with your soul purpose. And what a purpose!
Ultimately Polynesia is a very beautiful place, so beautiful many
say it is paradise. It resembles the bright land of the soul.
The soul-land
is a land of beauty. Our view needs to be expanded, past this life,
past social problems, past our country, in keeping with the purest
traditions of Huna. We only need to follow the signs of our soul.
To reach the soul-land we need discernment, not discrimination.
The soul-land is one nation, like Hawaii, and knows only rainbow
light. The soul-land is now moving from hunalight, hidden light,
to the brighter light we all need. Huna provides a wonderful vessel
for this movement.
What's the role
of the soul in Huna?
Huna, just like
many philosophies, talks of the role of the soul. The soul, according
to Huna, is our eternal self, a portion of which is incarnated when
we are born - the rest remaining in the other planes. We each have
a unique soul, yet some people, places and animals are closer to
our soul essence to others - that is why we are magnetized towards
them. Sometimes we know them as our 'soul mates'. Our soul came
to earth to be happy, originally, which occurred effortlessly in
the ancient continent of Lemuria (according to Huna, now the earth
is activated many souls are being 'reincarnated' who were once there).
The legend of paradise occurs in Huna as in other traditions, and
since then the earth has 'fallen'. To regain our original state
of paradise our soul can learn certain lessons - such as letting
go, compassion and integrity - and by practicing them on earth then
we can create that 'bright land' wherever we may go. So the soul
is not just an abstract concept in Huna, but also an emotion and
an action.
I want love,
love, love. How do I find it?
To truly attract
love Huna states you must become far more in tune with your entire
being. Your subconscious mind, your conscious mind and your Higher
Self. We are not taught how to do this in school where we concentrate
on our conscious mind. Feel your feelings - that's your subconscious.
Do something different, don't keep to your same old routines - that
will shake up your subconscious. Let go of your attachment to the
past - that's your subconscious too. Face your fears and move through
them - that will take you to your other minds. Learn about new things
that really attract you - that's a guide to your Higher Self. Create
space in your doubtless busy life and schedule for love to flow
in.
Okay, I found
love. How I do stick with it?
This can be
even more of a challenge! For we are no longer living in a land
of paradise but a flawed world. Sometimes our wonderful mate also
appears flawed. First check appropriate boundaries are in place
(you are not with anyone who's addicted, violent, unfaithful without
responsibility etc).
Once you've
checked that that's the case, and you have something worth keeping,
focus on what you love about your mate (if you can't contact it
right now, imagine him or her as a child and send that being love).
Then remember that the role of our soul mate (who often does what
we least want him or her to do) is to press our buttons to help
us grow. Don't 'cut off'. Try and work out what your lessons are
or could be. I can offer consultations to help you if it's not obvious.
That's the most valuable work you could do. For once you have learned
them then you can integrate them and they will help you in your
life. For example, if you can feel what your partner's feeling then
you have learned compassion. That will lift you up in every single
way in your life. For instance, you will feel compassion towards
a crying child, a starving animal. You will not judge. Not only
that but you will never need to learn your soul lesson again - and
if you don't learn them now, they will certainly keep on coming
through other partners until you do. So really your mate is doing
you a great favour.
Then send more love. Not only to your mate but to yourself. You
will rapidly find your situation changing, for according to Huna
the world around us always reflect where we are.
I've always
been poor, but I'm ready to change it. What can I do?
Getting a more
highly paid job isn't necessarily the answer. For you may just run
up debts and still be poor - but with debts, which is even worse.
You must really look at the complexes which keep you poor. What
are your fundamental beliefs about money? Why don't you want to
suddenly become rich? Are you mostly a giver (in which case you
need to keep control) or a receiver (and stuck in victim consciousness).
What can you do to become more in the flow with a genuine balance
between giving and receiving? If you're doing anything out of integrity
- such as claming benefit when you are working - then you must give
that up. Now you've looked at both your emotions and your actions.
When you are ready, feel that feeling of true wealth and allow it
to zing through you. When it catches - and you'll know the moment
- then you are ready for the wealth to appear. How? Explore what
you love. That gives a clue about how to achieve prosperity. Once
you are doing the right thing in the right way, wealth will
appear.
I'd like to
write an article on Huna or love or other good stuff, can I interview
you?
I do my best
to keep to the principles of Huna in how I disseminate knowledge.
This means that sometimes I must refuse to give it if people are
not ready for it, even if I am offered money by them. Also I do
not knowingly appear in articles that feature teachers of Huna who
have not been properly trained, and have refused several requests
on this basis. I would be doing a disservice to the ancient knowledge
by associating myself with these opportunistic people. Please see
below for an explanation of why not. If you'd like to interview
me with some of the other recommended teachers, or on my own, in
most cases, I would be happy to be interviewed.
Do you recommend
any other teachers on Huna?
The only people
I recommend are in the 'links' page on my website. Otherwise - sorry
- I do not recommend them. As with any subject, it's important to
have a proper background. Being active in the 'New Age' does not
give you that. Nor does studying NLP (neuro-linguistic-programming).
Nor does feeling you 'have a past life' in Hawaii - today the world
and his dog seems to have that feeling! A good reason to learn
Huna yes, to teach it, no. To teach, it's essential to be familiar
with the kaona, the ancient meanings of the language, as
well as to teach knowledge the traditional way.In addition the quality
of compassion is important - learning Huna is a challenge and a
teacher should not be out for himself or herself and to charge a
lot of money, but to share the knowledge with you in the most appropriate,
loving way possible.
There has been
an explosion of interest in Huna in recent decades - when I was
first drawn to it, no-one I knew had heard of it. Studying and teaching
Huna is a lifetime's work, sadly many teachers are now setting themselves
up as Huna teachers after a week or two's training. One of the myriad
problems with the New Age is that teachers are not properly trained
and accountable (responsive to feedback from their students or other
organizations) making grandiose claims. This affects their students.
What is the
role of boundaries?
Boundaries are
not discussed enough in the New Age movement. They are actually
very important in providing correct parameters for growth. When
you plant a tree and there are sheep around, the tree will not survive
unless it is protected by a fence, until it reaches a certain point
and then it can be removed. In this world there are many 'sheep',
many distractions, and this is why ancient Hawaiian teaching says
boundaries are necessary when learning Huna. I recreate this teaching
in my courses. When it doesn't happen, it's dangerous, for knowledge
is a powerful force that can be used for either good or harm. When
teaching is without boundaries, either self-imposed or monitored
appropriately by other organizations, harm is the inevitable result.
What about NLP
and Huna?
NLP teachers
are NOT Huna teachers. NLP is a modern discipline, based on certain
mental constructs which then create a desired reality. Huna is ancient
wisdom which uses far more than this to create your desired reality.
For instance Huna uses your emotion as well as your mind, and also
uses far more parts of your mind. Just as you cannot eat an icecream
by licking at the surface, so you cannot learn about Huna from an
NLP person, whatever they might tell you in the blurb for their
highly-priced workshops.
I like drinking
a bit and taking a few drugs. Does it make much difference?
Well, it might
be unfashionable to say it, but yes it does. For substances not
only 'shut you down' to the higher realities, but stop you developing
further. So why close yourself down that way? Again, have the courage
to feel what's really going on inside you so you won't even be tempted
any more! I don't teach my courses on Hawaiian shamanism to anyone
who is still takes substances, for there needs to be a firm foundation
in order to truly grow. If you are still taking them then don't
give yourself a hard time, but do something different one night
- something that you would really like to do. Then do it again -
and again. Change can be effortless. And before you know it you
will have given up! If you're having problems and would love to
do a course, then I can offer a personal consultation to help you
between three and six months before the course starts to giveyou
time to integrate the changes.
But don't drugs
help you 'open up' spiritually?
No. They were
useful at certain points in our world, but we don't need them any
more. The Hawaiian tradition never used drugs, and said our consciousness
is always enough. You don't need anything more than your own amazing
mind of light to grow.
