Huna is Love
Huna
is the knowledge of how to love. Hawaii takes love seriously,
it is considered action as well as feeling. Its society is
based on the infrastructure of love, as described by the Professor
Emeritus of Anthropology at the University of Chicago, Marshall
Sahlins (1985).
Aloha
(or Love), is the most famous word in Hawaiian. It can be
understood in terms of its different elements. Like other
sacred languages, it contains a secret code.

Notice
that the letters of each of the 'root words' are contained
in the word 'Aloha'. Word games were very popular in Polynesia,
and in traditional times were played with a gourd filled with
small objects. The gourd was the outer structure of the word,
and the objects represented the Kaona or 'hidden
meanings'. The gourd is symbolically the gourd of knowledge,
believed to be a form of the god of consciousness. Lono. Lono
also represents the conscious mind, and the Kaona
ways of reaching the other minds, the Higher Self and the
subconscious, through your interpretation of the word. Huna
is ultimately the knowledge of how to grow towards love through
increasing consciousness.
