SKYE
INFORMATION
Accommodation
(B & B approx. £15 a night) or you can camp which is recommended
to help you integrate the sacred knowledge by being close to the
earth. There may be some caravans for hire on the croft.
Travel
Travel
to the Isle of Skye from London can be completed in a number of
ways.
The
cheapest is a return bus to Inverness, at approx. £50, or
flights on EasyJet can be as little as £30 one way.
You
can take the night train from London Euston direct to Inverness
arriving at 8am, and then connect by bus to Portree or Sligachan
or train to Kyle of Lochalsh - one of the most stunning rail journeys
in the world. Inverness is three hours away from the remote area
of Skye why the course is held.
Car
hire available in Inverness, Kyle, or Broadford or Skye. The drive
from London is about 13 hours, the last six in a landscape of great
beauty.
What
to bring
We are normally blessed with the weather for this
course, but you'll want to bring a raincoat. Wellington boots may
also be handy for some of the outside walking. A camera will enable
you to record some of the stunning beauty of the island. Some people
like to bring midge repellant - Elizabeth Arden's Skin So Soft works
best for the local midges. You'll need a pen and paper and a copy
of The Sacred Power of Huna. A water bottle will mean you
can gather drinking water from the fresh springs of the island.
Tips
Try and arrive on Skye two days before the start
of the course. The vibration of the island is usually higher than
the place the student is coming from, and the extra time helps you
adjust. It's good to spend time being fairly quiet and focus on
what you want after the long journey.
