This “background” chapter introduces the Hawaiian islands, describing them and their history. The theme is how tourist perceptions differ from reality. Hawaiian knowledge being “invisible light.” It describes the culture hidden to Hawai’i's visitors.

Chapter 2 - Contrasting Lights
Here our system of knowledge is compared to Hawai’i's and the bases of these different knowledge systems are explained as cultural.

Chapter 3 - The Power of Mana
Examples of magic in Hawaii. The concept of mana as creative, not divine power is discussed.

Chapter 4 - Making magic
The need to direct magic, and to ‘focus the light’ is explained.

Chapter 5 - Journey to the Mind of Light
We explore the concept of the superconscious ‘Mind of Light’ and relate it to the process of lightening ourselves.

Chapter 6 - Opening the Colors of Light: The Hula Dance
The hula dance as a ‘system of magic and consciousness’ is exposed. It contains techniques to ‘open up’ and clear the emotions, which are related to the naming of the parts of the dance and the colours.

Chapter 7 - Making Rainbows: The Huna of Lovemaking
In this chapter making love is discussed as a process that is conscious and learned in Hawai’i. Very different from the West and some implications are discussed.

Chapter 8 - Lights on the Beach at Night: Beyond Time and Death
The Hawaiian concept of time and compare it to the Western one. Hawaiian astrology is discussed in print for the first time.

Chapter 9 - Gods Sliding Down Rainbows: Myth and Magic
Hawaiian myth is looked at in terms of the ability to transcend our own emotional states. New patterns of connection are explored that transcend time, distance, even death, leading to a new understanding of meaning.

Chapter 10 - Brightening the Trails: A Pilgrimage through Hawaii
Travel to these sacred islands can be a pilgrimage. The powerful and sacred places can help people to attract – and let go – of the qualities they desire. Two main areas are explored, the Na Pali cliffs of Kauai and Kilauea Volcano of the Big Island.

Ways of raising our vibration. Our world becomes brighter and we increase the quality of our light.
